Colored Denims | Day 11

I have nothing much to say today. Let's move straight to the outfit. Simple, laid back and very me! Well, there was no thought put into this except for putting the colors together. I wore the black vest to add some structure to the slouchy shirt and that was it. I also added an owl pendant later, therefore, its not visible in the pictures below:

The Going Gets Tough: Day 9 | Day 10

Taking pictures in the morning, putting up on the blog in the evening, it was all working out smoothly initially, but then taking the pictures made me run late for work and in the evening I had other works to do, the posts got delayed, no pictures were taken and all that!
I try my best to post the pictures that same day, but I am unable to do so and then this happens, two outfits in one post (one out of which was taken in the past :D ). So yeah, you kind of get the whole picture, right?

But I promise myself to complete this challenge and not drop it in between :)

So here you go:

The Haathi Print: Daily Outfit Post | Day 5

Today, I woke up feeling free (not restricted by the feeling that I have to dress up for WORK). We do not have strict formals at work anyways! Anything descent works but does not mean you show up at work in ‘purani jeans aur guitar’ (you get the point, right?). The basic idea behind today’s look was to layer up on jewelry, everything else that you see in the outfit was built around that (not really, though!).

My favorite trousers paired with my favorite black shirt, it looked well but I wanted it to look fun. Then, comes in the haathi (elephant) print cape I love, it was actually a scarf that I got made into the cape and the look was complete. Its fun to put a little thought into everyday outfits, the 30-day outfit post challenge makes me do just that! I am loving it.

Everything else in the outfit: No idea :P

Pink and Blue- Daily Outfit Post (Day 4)

Four days down already! yoohoo!! These days went like a breeze, I hope it stays the same for 26 more days (sounds easy, eh? ;) ). I won't go into the details of the outfit as it very very simple, all the pieces just got along well and I liked the outcome :).

I have something for all the tie-dye stuff, dupattas are my favorites followed by bags and tops. I keep collecting this kinda stuff and sometimes they come really handy (like today!). They're good to add a desi (Indian) touch to the outfit.

The Colored Denim- Daily Outfit Post (Day 3)

First two days went just fine. Today, it started with a 15 minutes long staring at the pile of clothes lying in my closet (I usually take 5!). It was one of those 'having too many ideas but none working' kinda day. Finally, I combined these three pieces. Here comes the third day outfit. The basic inspiration for this look was tunic/kurti with the jeans. I added colored trousers and the crochet shrug as my take on the look.

Outfit Details:
Kurti: Customized
Trousers: Also worn here and here
Crochet Shrug: Also worn here
Earrings: Deepika Designs

The Flower Power- Daily Outfit Post (Day 2)

Just yesterday, I was talking about not wearing layers, due to the rains! And today, I am embracing layers (that's how unpredictable I can be!). Layering is an easy way to wear the same piece of clothing in a new way every time. Also I felt inspired by Surbhi's look, where she layered with a button down shirt.

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Also worn here
Floral Tee: Thrifted
Necklace: My Design
Watch: Factorie
Bangle: Dilli Haat

The Rainy Day- Daily Outfit Post (Day 1)

The rains in Delhi = What-a-relief! I love rains but they make travelling so difficult, specially if you travel by public transport. Today while going to work, I got semi-drenched and I felt so irritated, though it got better in about half-an-hour. I totally love the awesome mausam (weather) rains bring, only if, all that blocked water on the roads vanishes!

The 30 day outfit post challenge: I've taken up a challenge to do continuous outfit posts for 30 days (except sundays, when I am usually at home!). These are going to be more of everyday outfits, something which I wear to work everyday. That's what I wore today, just a simple tunic and skinnies kinda outfit. I avoided layers purposely, so that in case I get wet (which I eventually did), it dries up quick without hassle!

Outfit Details:
Tunic|Shoes: Janpath
Wooden Beads Necklace: Gifted
Denims: Levi's
Bracelets (Do not belong to me): Designed by a Friend

Much Love,
Deepika :)

Life in the (First Compartment of Delhi) Metro! - Part 1

All you gals (well, all the Delhi gals) must have traveled at lease once in the first compartment (the women only) of the Delhi metro. It's a different world in itself, full of girls! I spend almost 2 hours everyday, 12 hours a week in the metro, so it has become an inevitable and a very important part of my life. I see a lot of new and some same faces everyday travelling via metro. But, there's something special about it that's makes me write this post.

I randomly took the above picture yesterday, then I thought why not write a post about it? Traveling in the metro can be quite fun and entertaining. If you too travel in the Women Only compartment then you might have seen/met the following people:

The Loudspeakers: The gals who talk non-stop on the phone and in a very loud (well, unbearable!) tone. No matter how much you stare at them, makes faces, do whatever, they just ignore all the gesture.

The Chooda Gals: The type of gals I love staring at, I love chooda (for those who don't know, they are red and white bangles that the newly weds wear). Just yesterday, I saw 5 gals wearing chooda on my way to work.

The Readers: (I being one of them) The girls who dig themselves into novels/newspapers/text books/tabs reading something and ignoring everything/everyone around.

The Fashion Disasters: Dressed head to toe in the same color, shoes, bags and even hair band, all in that same color.Well, I don't think I need to describe them further, we all know them!

(to be continued...)
This is a never ending list that I'll continue (this and a lot more) in the future posts. Below is the picture of the necklace I wore yesterday!

Via Instagram

And I liked the Grazia this month, its all about embracing the denim pants (which is supposed to be my favorite piece of clothing). Also, the wedding book (which came with the Vogue) offers interesting info on jewelry and clothing for the brides-to-be, one of my friends being one of them, loved it.

Any funny metro experiences? Please share :)

Much Love,
Deepika
